NHM GENERAL - Pasted to the front endpaper is a handwritten note quoting from Sir James Edward Smith's 'English Flora'. Dried plant material at p. 80/81, and 116/117. The first of these is labelled 'Glasn. Bot. Gar. June 1813.' Dried plant pasted to p. 271. Drawing in red ink on p. 473. Pages 382/383 bear the impression of a plant that was pressed between the pages.
NHM BOTANY - 'Botanical Department' handwritten in ink at top of title page. Title page, dedication page and original rear endpaper have been repaired, not affecting the text. Original rear endpaper is covered in ink drawings of plants.

The first edition was published in 1762, a second edition in 1778; the so-called second edition (1798) is actually the third.
