A system of vegetables appeared in parts. No.1 (1782), consisting of 176 pages, is reviewed in The monthly review, 68: 433-5 (for May 1783). The complete work, which consisted of four parts, bound in 2 volumes, is reviewed in Vol.72: 401-10 (for June 1785) .. The ?botanical society at Lichfield? consisted of three members only: Erasmus Darwin, Brooke (later Sir Brooke) Boothby, and John Jackson." (Henrey).
Soulsby no.580 = part 1, with the original part title page, which lacks the volume number, and is dated 1782.
Consists of part 1 only.
Final [30] p. of vol. 2 = An alphabetical catalogue of English and Scotch names of plants, with a separate titlepage, dated 1784.
Soulsby no. 580a is duplicated at Soulsby no. 3837.
