First edition published 1764. Berkenhout says in his preface that he issued the second edition because William Curtis had told him his work was being plagiarised; the plagiarist in question may have been Driver, the lexicon in whose Pomona britanica (1788) incorporates passages in Berkenhout's wording.
On the title-page is a quotation in Hebrew letters from I Kings iv. 33.
Pages are unnumbered throughout.
